The photo is a bit washed out though.

Cactus coral is easy to keep, but it is somewhat brittle, or more delicate then other SPS.

You could also try birdsnest, or digitata.

You might want to try checking out the following books from your local library. They are also pretty cheap on chapters.ca or amazon.ca.

Aquarium Corals; Selection, Husbandry, and Natural History (2001) by Eric H. Borneman
Corals: A Quick Reference Guide (1999) by Julian Sprung

I also heard this is a good book, but haven't yet had the chance to read it myself as it was just recently released.

Book of Coral Propagation: Reef Gardening for Aquarists by Anthony Calfo

I don't really differentiate which types of acropora I have, sorry. I'm pretty useless in this sense.

There are no acropora that are "easy". They all require good water quality, great lighting, flow and room to grow. You also need experience in knowing when they aren't happy and a good idea why.
If you must have some SPS, start with m. digitata. These will be the easiest to care for, grow well, and are cheap to replace until you gain experience with SPS. Typically new aquarists should have their reef running AND stable for a year before trying acros. This is not a rule of course, but a very sound guideline.
