Power into small black box [ step / down ] from there to battery back-up
[ in ] from there out to speed control. This is how I had it hooked up, but like I said battery heats up where it's hot to touch |
I don't know if this has much to do with your set up, but I do know that when you draw a lot of current from a battery they will always heat up. With radio controlled applications, they are draining the entire battery in 20 mins or so, and they get extremely hot. Did your equiptment come with a battery? or are you just using a standard automotive battery?

It's a back-up battery for the VorTech pump from Ecotech Marine
Update; faulty battery...sent it back to Icecap in New Jersey...47 dollars later RJ |
