Tagging along because I'm interested as well.

Are you thinking of upgrading?

Untamed had his tank built in the US, but he might know of a Canadian place he found during his research. you could PM him

just want to know in general, we are thinking of setting up a custom system for a client of ours, size is still undetermined but it will most likely be above 100 gallon and a custom shape.

Tenecor

and something not entirely related but VERY cool!

As for Canada???........?

http://www.truvuaquariums.com/index.html also in the US.

The lack of comparable Canadian outfits is probably due to the higher domestic prices for acrylic.

There are some places like http://www.miraclesaquariums.com/index.html but they are back east and have limited selection.

What are atvantages to acrylic aquariums?

Raf 07-18-2007 04:38 PM

Depends on who you talk to :D

BUT,

in general, acrylic is lighter, clearer and stronger(especially in an earthquake). So it makes sense for LARGE tanks or tanks that are weird shapes and sizes.

I found a place in Langley, BC that claimed they could make anything...and had acrylic up to 1" thick. Unfortunately, they had no experience making aquariums in particular - which made me nervous.

In the end, I went with Envision in Oregon. http://www.envisionacrylics.com/index.html

He provided a lot of experience and actually built things into the tank that I had not considered. (ie. removable overflow strainers)
