Chem 101 Help
 
Hey just wondering if someone can help me balance my tank. Meaning point me in the right direction for balance my chem probs.

OK

So

Calc. is coming in at 400
Alk 5.8 dKH
and my NO3 is coming in at 5ppm

i cannot get a reading for PH as it "off the chart" color wise

"Grr i need a PH Probe"

I does kalk through my auto top-off

Tips, suggestions

Add baking soda according to this article. http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php
make sure you calculate your tank volume to determine how much is required to raise your alk about 3dKH. I suggest you increase 1 dKH daily over three days to minimize shock/change for your corals.

yes it will help stabalize the pH only if you add it gradually. if not, it will create a spike before stabalization
