At what point do you cut your loses

Hey guys (and girls) at what point do you cut your loses with an SPS piece i have 2 purple digi that both have not been opening and now are getting algae (browny green) growing over there skeleton, at this point am i doing more harm leaving them in or should i just see what happens with them. And if you should toss them at what point do you decide its dead and that its going to do more harm (if it does) leaving them in the tank. Also have a Green moni that seems to be receding. It still has polyp extension but not as full as it used to be.

Thanks for the help

Kyle

Try looking into what is causing the problem. Low flow? Low light? High nutrients? Something touch it? Etc.

it depends on the rarity and price of the piece that I bought. If its rare, i frag until the very last polyp. If its a common piece, ba-bye.
the best part about sps is you can cut it down to the healthy tissue and glue that on a rock. It helps to increase your alkalinity/calcium to promote sps growth for the smaller frags.
