How long is too long, he asked, coyly...
A kind of general question about missing fish... Ahem.
What's the longest you've had a fish go missing in your tank, and then had it reappeared from its well thought-out hiding spot? The reason I ask is my new jawfish was spooked the other day (I guess I moved a little too quick) he swam to the back of the tank and I haven’t seen him since. That was Friday night… He’s not “out of water” – I’ve quadruple checked, plus the tank is 100% screened off for now (to prevent him carpet surfing) So he’s either hiding or… Thanks! -Pauli |
Three days for me.

Oopes! Today's Monday, not Sunday (sat's always throw me off!). He vanished Saturday night.
3 days, that's good (well, for me)! |
I had a Tomi tang go missing for a few days shy of a month. Gone one evening, and reappeared one morning after he'd been written off as MIA.

We generally see our dancing goby every 6 months or so. He is so small, and there are tons of spots to hid in my tank, but we thought we would see him more than we do :-) We named him "Bigfoot" due to the rare amount of times he appears.

your jawfish may be making a burrow at the back of your tank. We had a jawfish for about 6 months and whenever it would get spooked my something it would leave its old burrow and go and make a new one. I think we went close to a week withour seeing ours.

yikes a week! Thanks for the help all!

We had a firefish go into hidding for almost 2 weeks before being seen again.
