Diatoms
 

I have had my tank up and running for several weeks now, 3 weeks ago I got a break out of diatoms, I have turned my lighting down to 8 hours a day, stuffed my sump with filter floss before the return, added a dozen crabs and still I cant seem to get rid of this problem. Anyone have some suggestions ?

diatoms are a regular cycle of the tank, they will go away eventually on there own and may even come back a bit during the first year.
