Starfish in my sump
Just thought I'd post a pic of one of sump residents:
http://www.themomos.net/onlinepics/P1030072.jpg I love this starfish!! Not reef safe and so it's in the sump. |
ooh pretty

Far out, what kind is that?

Don't Know?
I don't know.. Robert @ King Ed's said it was from Fiji and it wasn't reef safe $14.99. I've since gotten another that is a beautiful blue with black spots, same kind just different color. I have found them easy to feed with shrimp and scallops.

ive had mine 2 years now and its definatly one of my favorite creatures,
the scientific name is pentaceraster mammilatus and its a close relative of the red general starfish. |
Thanks for the name!
Thanks for posting the name of the starfish. They are so beautiful Im glad I got my hands on a couple. They had them at King Eds for a while. I snapped up the one in the photo immediately and was surprised that a couple of weeks later the blue one I got second was still there. Apparently not many people could house them cause of the not being reef sage thing..
