Your never going to believe this
I went to Bow Valley Aquariums on Tuesday to put a deposit down on a 36x36x20" cube. When I got to work this morning (Thursday) there was a message on my phone from last night that the tank was finished!
I honestly wasn't expecting it until summer time. Now it will sit in the basement until I'm ready to work on it. Good job Bow Valley! |
Nice! Interesting...I'm looking into doing a 36x36x18 set-up.

Sweet tank size! Looking forward to seeing the progress.

If you don't mind me asking, what did that cube cost? :)

The tank is euro braced and has a 1/2" bottom. |
did you get a starfire front panel, and overflow?
also aprox how many gallons is that? |
reply
No Starfire, could justify it for 3/8 glass. I didn't have him drill anything because I have access to all sorts of drill bits for that kind of stuff. Once I actually get the tank I'll start a new journal for the build up. But basicall I'm planning on a closed loop, and to use all of my exisiting equipment such as lighting, sump etc.
36x36x20" equals 112 gallons, minus the thickness of the glass should put it somewhere between 104 to 108 gallons. Danny |
Are you doing an overflow? If so, where? I was thinking of doing a centre overflow for mine and drilling a few holes on the bottom for a closed loop. Think that'd work, too?

I haven't decided yet. I think I could do a center overflow, but a rear might work better since the closed loop will run out of the back of the tank anyway. Lots of time to figure out those details.
