got a hitch hiking WHAT?!
 

im not sure even i believe what i just found in my 8gal reef tank as a hitcher. a jellyfish. a freaking JELLYfish!:surprise:

it's not a mature one, just a little ephyra (baby jelly... about 1mm across) and i managed to spot the guy and take him out using a plastic cup. he's got the clear bell, the weeeee tiny little red tentacles and a sort of redish tube (looks liek it) going through the centre of the bell.

For now he's in a little 1gal fishbowl with an airline (two bubbles per second). Id like to modify the bowl into a kreisel but that comes another day. the bowl is dunked in my 60gal FOWLR to keep temperature steady.

gahhhh... id like to attempt raising him but Im not entirely sure how really... Ill have to ask a friend at the vancouver aquarium. The first thing on my list i think is to get live rotifer and green algae for them. then i need a quieter pump, because the one igot is ridiculously loud.

honest, I do have it! unfortunately i got no pics cuz i got no camera. sister has it at her place. besides the thing is so small i doubt i could get even a half decent pic anyways. If any of you want to come by (port moody) sometime to try to get a pic for me, that would be SUPER!

That's cool Justin! I've got several air pumps kicking around, do you want one that's maybe a little more quiet? I could toss it in the mail.

I have noticed a few of these in my tank recently...not sure how they got there, but the pulse and move around in the current.
