All Hail the Local Tank!

Well most of you know about my local tank and have been asking for pictures so heres a few to get you by until I get way more cool stuff.

Full tank shot.

Some random shot through some seaweed.

One of the few blennies in my tank.

A brittle start that was a hitchhiker off of rocks on the beach.

This little guy has some wicked colouring eh?

Boring sea urchins.

This one is about a foot long.

I really like this picture and it would be even better if the pipe wasn't in the background.

There are just so many sculpins that I had to have at least one.

Now this here is a Cabezon and a baby at that! They get to about 25 pounds and 3 feet long.

Can you tell this is my most favorite fish in the tank right now?

I have this picture as my desktop currently.

I will have more to come soon since there is more to catch and many many more small things hiding away.

Nice tank!

What are your plans for the Cabezon in the future?

That's awesome! My dad needs to set up a tank like that, he's in Quallicum Beach and needs a retirement hobby.

I would really like a baby dogshark again. Also just today I found a medium sized giant pacific octopus but I couldn't get it get out from under the rock without hurting it before the tide came in:cry: . I would also like anything cool.

If you want in future pictures I can tell you guys the names of them. I know them all.

Just on a side note. All of these things were caught yesterday at low tide with a dip net in knee deep water.

What kind of tank is that?

I've never seen those fish before; very interesting! :D

Delphinus 04-22-2007 03:31 AM

Cool stuff.

You finding these things off Parksville or are you driving for a bit to collect them?

Diana 04-22-2007 05:23 AM

so how about some specs on the set up?

Do you run a chiller on it? I see you are using glass, any problems with sweating on the glass? How long have you had this thing set up with the macroalgae in it?
