will be visiting so thinking I should do something other than drinking beer.

There are a few stores in Halifax. Some around Clayton Park and surrounding areas. I know that there is a few private dealers, but I can't remember exactly where they are located. You could check out www.eastcoastaquariumsociety.ca and ask around there.
