nano-streams, any problems?

Just curious if anyone's run into any problems after the "first batch"? Heard of various people needing theirs exchanged if they got the "first batch" of them.

I have 4 of them (2-6025, 2-6045)

So far so good, though the 6025's a much louder than the larger 6045 models. The magnet mount is a nice feature. Good flow for a nano, but on larger tanks they don't really seem to have enough umph.

Harvey,

Are you using them on the tank in your signature? I want a pair, but I am waiting on more reviews for use on a nano.

Right now I have the two larger ones and two 6100 tunze's on my large tank. I have one of the smaller ones in my sump to prevent crud from settling there and I have the other smaller one in my nano tank.

My 6045 runs well, but won't restart when unplugged

The impeller shaft on my first 6025 completely rusted and broke off within a month. It was replaced at the store (thanks, Colby, you rock...woot woot! ok...got carried away). The second nano sometimes has issues restarting right away when unplugged. One time it took me over 100 times unplugging and plugging back in, before it started up. Most of the time, it's ok though.

It works really well, though. Convenient, inconspicuous, etc.

I was told the nanostreams cannot be used with a controller, is this true? Is there a way to get around this?

Der_Iron_Chef 03-20-2007 12:06 AM

I believe that's right...and I'm not sure there would be any way to get around it.

cool, thanks for the feedback. Was considering whether the price difference between a nano-stream and a seio was worth it. It seems the nano-stream is a model line-up to compete with the seio for price by providing a little more innovation for a little more money.

You can wait until the 6055 Nanostream comes out. That ones controllable.
