micro bubble issue
i have a huge micro bubble issue , i dont want to disassemble my sump to pump in baffles as i have an established tank
any suggestions as to remove the bubbles? filter socks.... ? live rock in the sump ? i need ideas guys Thanks Steve |
A pic of your sump might trigger a few ideas. Also could you be sucking air in the return anywhere??
|
i cant post pics on here for some reason .... it keeps saying it too large

and nope , if i turn off my skimmer it pretty much kills all the bubbls in the tank... but then i have no skimming going on
|
I use a filter sock on the output of my skimmers and returns from the tank.
They work great for controlling microbubbles. I have to change them out for a clean set once a week. http://members.shaw.ca/btooms/Inwall%20115.jpg |

Could you add an elbow or two to the top to give you a place to hang a bag? Or do the gate valve mod, you don't have to buy the ASM kit you can get the parts yourself at somewhere like Western Pump.
http://www.asmskimmer.com/mod1.htm Like they say the PVC gate valve is the hardest to find but I'm using a slice gate valve on my CS8-3 and it's working fine. http://www.aquaticeco.com//images/items/GV1122_rgb.jpg |
