Reef Chemistry Q....

I know I've heard this before, but I can't seem to find the answer now. Figured someone could give me a quick answer!

So, I supplement Calcium and Alkalinity with Turbo Calcium and Kent Supperbuffer dKh, respectively. My question is, can I add these on the same day or not? I was told at one point to stagger adding these supplements every other day, but I can't remember the rationale behind this.

I add DIY buffer, Ca and Mg all at the same time, at different locations in my 120g display tank (no sump). I make sure they are added in high flow areas. Have not had any precipitation problems doing this.

They usually say on the bottles to wait 30 min between doesing the 2!

KrazyKuch,

Ah! I'm a renegade, greying, middle aged woman  My corals are doing better now than they have ever done before  I just make sure the chems go in in high flow areas.

The reason for it is only to prevent the two concentrates from meeting in concentrated form. As soon as one part is mixed into the tank, it is safe to add the other part.

I add them 2 hours apart with aqualifters on timers. No problems.
