How do I put probe into Ca reactor?
Do I use gland nuts to insert a pH probe into a Ca reactor?
If so, does anybody know where I can get them? If I remove the probe, is there a fitting or cap I can use to plug the hole? If not, please do tell. thanks |
Do you really need to put the probe in the reactor?
Have the effluent of mine going into a small container (pill type container that Crazy-glue came in) sitting over sump. Probe sits in that. If want to measure pH of system, just lift the probe out and drop into tank. I did have some plastic strain relief connectors used to waterproof cabling into enclosures that I was going to use but thought why. |
I used a 1/2" john guest type fitting. It has to be drilled out to let the probe pass right through. You just pop out the retainer ring and o-ring, then run a drill bit through, then put it back together. Oh, and you need to make sure you heve the fitting that has the 1/2" np threads so its large enough for the probe to pass through.
Having the probe in the reactor is not mandatory, but I have noticed it is much more accurate to control. |
