Will my open brain heal from this?
 

I got this brain a while ago, when I put it in the tank I noticed a large vermetid snail on the skeleton (which I removed right away). I believe it caused the tissue damage in the picture. It seems to be getting worse. Will it heal from this? Is there anything I can do to help?

PS the half that is not shown in the picture looks good.

Looks like it's trying to heal, I would gently baste the tissue to keep any detrius off of it. You may lose that section though, as there is some recession showing on the bottom too.
