WTB Mantis shrimp

Strange request from me, but in the last couple of months I have lost all but my peacock.

Just lost my smithii this morning.

I got a 5 gallon that needs a centerpiece

He's not far from you, either. Only one I've seen lately that appears to be still not sold.

Maybe you could trade your octopus for it. lol

No chance. You have any idea how much money I have spent setting up a tank for a $30 animal? Besides I am very attached...to him

I seen a new one @ Gold yesterday. It's all orange with HUGE white claws. It just came in. First time I've seen one like this and have no clue what type it could be.:)

Weird. You sure it was a mantis?

I just called Dennis and said no?

He told me it was a mantis yesterday.

Looked like a mantis body with giant white claws.

Go figure.

Edit:

I just called him also and he said that it's some kind of snapping shrimp and was just written on the shipping list as a mantis or something like that.

pistol shrimp not a mantis

ditto on the pistol shrimp theory. I find that in general LFS usually aren't the best sources of info on mantis shrimp. warning: In a 5 gal you should stick to a small species.

on finding one: go to your LFS and ask them to put your name down in case they get one and whether or not they can order one in for ya.

i know where you can find some BIG peacocks- they are frozen though :D

rudy 01-21-2007 01:10 AM

I would be relatively secure in saying those hit the BBQ about 6 pm last night.

Haha

That was amazing. Poor peacocks
