What are the main water parameters for a 28G mini-reef system
ie ammonia, nitrate, nitrite,Ph etc? and what is the best test kit?

Salifert is the industry standard for test kits with most reefers I believe.

Ammonia & Nitrite should always be at undetectable levels. For sps, nitrate is more of an issue, while LPS & softies can stand a slightly higher level of nitrate. pH should be around 8.2-8.4 range usually.

In a smaller tank, all these parameters will be harder to achieve (in general) because of the lower volume for dilution & stability.

Hope that helps,

Anthony

thank you Anthony,
Now my second question which test kit is the most reliable and accurate?

IMO Salifert and Elos

Can't really say if no more accurate but reason I switched to Salifert fr Hagen was Salifert easier for me to read (and if couldn't read, whatever accuracy won't matter)
