Rainy day pics
Or how to get completely frustrated trying to get pictures of my achilles tang swimming upside down. These are the best I could come up with after trying all day and I never did get the water changed on my tanks again
Close but not quite http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...02fish0012.jpg Butt shot anyone? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...02fish0013.jpg bugging the foxface for awhile http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...02fish0011.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...02fish0014.jpg and these were the best I could come up with after 100's of pics and 2 sets of batterys  |

Before anyone else does what i did and fall in love with someone elses achilles tang. I should warn you, these guys love to swim. I've had 2 different yellow tangs, a naso and a white cheek and this guy could out swim them all.
He is the only fish that can eat the hair algae growing in the middle of my tunze stream :surprise: |
my tank is 7 ft long, i'm hoping it will good enough for one. it is one of the tangs on my fish list to have
|
Nice pictures

The Achilles is an awesome fish. I remember snorkeling in Maui and seeing tons of these guys grazing and grazing. Extremely active as well.... great photos.

Marie, what's your thoughts on the foxface, good herbivore, reefsafe? Have seen that they could take a liking to clam and fleshy corals. Also I have concerns on the spines, are they aggressive if you put your hand in the tank?
Want another larger fish for the tank and really want a Yellow Tang but looking like I would just be a little cruel putting one in with my Purple. A foxface is in the running though. |
He's a fantastic herbivore but I can't really comment on the reefsafe part because I have an angel, who is definitely not reefsafe, in the same tank. He could be picking on corals and the angel gets blamed  .
He's not aggressive towards me at all and usually hides when my hands are in the tank, I do have to be a bit watchful when putting nori in though |
Hey Mark, I'll have a foxface up for grabs when I move tanks in a couple of weeks. BTW I have never saw him nip at anything other then algae on the glass or rocks, and I have lots of zoos and clams.
