Ok I tried to use the sand bed calculator on another board but it seams not to be working. does anyone have a link to one that is working? I bought 280lbs of dolomite and I need to figure out how much I realy need [img]images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]

Hi,

The density is about the same as regular calcium carbonate sand (i.e. Southdown playsand). So, you can use this calculator as a reference.

that one doesent work [img]images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img] I get taken to the RC home page every time I click "calcuate" I did figure it out though. a 3 foot x 2 foot tank has a bottom of 6 sq feet. if I want 6" bed then one cu foot of lime will cover 2 sq feet and if 90 lbs is 1 cu ft I need 270 lbs to cover 6 sq feet 6" deep [img]images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]

damn I new all that math I have taken would come in handy for something [img]images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]
