Calcium reactor bubble counter fluid

Does anyone use something other than water to fill a bubble counter? Water seems to evaporate pretty quick and kind of a PIA to refill.
I think I remember somebody using glycerin maybe?

I use glycerine in my co2 bubble counter. WAAAAAAAAY easier to count bubbles too.

I run 2 calcium reactors and use water in the bubble counter. I find I have to add water to the bubble counters about every 3 weeks to a month.
I am going to try glycerine next time.

When you start using higher bubble rates for higher output water evaporates a lot faster.

Well, I haven't had to add any water in two years.
