drilling acrylic
I know this should probably go in the DIY forum but it seems that there aren't as many responses through there.
Anyway I need to drill an existing acryic tank and am wondering if there are tips or tricks I should be aware of. I plan to use a hole saw and run 1.5" pvc for a stand pipe that runs to the sump of my main display so I can increase water volume and act as a refugium. Any suggestions? |

Slow and easy does it. Hole saw bits get hot drilling acrylic. You can use water to help cool the bit. If it is thick maybe stop and let the bit cool off a couple times. After you are done the fun begins trying to clear out the bit.
