acrylic rods

I was wondering if anyone around Vancouver knows where I can buy some acrylic rods for securing rock together by using them as pegs....any other ideas for other materials? let me know! Thanks

I see you are in Surrey. Check out Plastic Works on 132nd Street. They used to be the old Industrial Paint and Plastics.

I bet if a guy was lucky enough to have a pneumatic hammer drill they could pop nice clean holes off in seconds for the rods. Sure would beat leaning on a cordless driver.

Nope, more than likely the rocks will crumble. Best to use a good quality masonry bit.

so Mike, just wondering if you indeed found and used the acrylic rods and if so:

a) what size rods?
b) how deep were the holes you drilled for them?
and c) does it feel secure and are you happy with how it turned out?
i've also heard of people using fiberglass rods...anyone else try this?
these questions are also applicable to anyone else who has used this method so feel free to chime in!

thanks,

darryl
