Hang on or Canister for running carbon?

I want to run a filter for my ~ 110gal system, with carbon, phosphate media. And can't decide which one to get...

The aquaclear 110 is 500gph, so that would be 5x per hour, or for more I can get a canister that would be about 2x turnover... Which would would be the best for running media? seems like the aquaclear because it turns the tank over more timer per hr... but is the canister more efficient? Thanks!!

How about a Phosban reactor?

ah.... good idea!! forgot about those for some reason! I guess I was talkin about the other two because I was going to run some poly filter as well... but I can just put that underneath my overflow... I assume it'd be ok to run seagel in on of those reactors?

Never tried, I think most people run separate reactors for Rowa and carbon. Makes for a lot of tees off the return line though.
