Who drills holes in Victoria area?
Is there anyone in the Victoria area that would drill a hole in my glass sump for an inline pump? What would that cost?
|
The last time i checked around it was
$30 at Victoria glass $20 at Excalibur glass (said he'd never drilled a tank before though) $45 at Sea Star If it's thinner glass you could probably just do it yourself with a dremel. |
Hey Kabong,
What bit would you use on the dremel? |
Other option
I was reading an old post and come apon this link. Looked alot easier then doing the dremil method. But I have done neither so I can't comment on the effectiveness of either method.

You have to use the diamond tipped bits with the dremel
I used the 7144 http://66.77.255.87/Images/DREMELACC...PD/7144_pd.jpg Quote:
These guys were out of stock for awhile, But now that they have them in again. These are totaly the way to go. |

Do you know if any of them make house calls? Thanx much, |
Im pretty sure Speedy does house calls, But I'm sure it costs more.
Also you have to remember you'd need to have the tank out somewhere you can get wet You use water to keep the glass cool as you drill, So the wetter the better. |
Thanks for the replies. Although I love to DIY, I'd be worried drilling a tank myself. I need to find a 20G high tank first but I will make some calls to the places listed above to find someone to do it. Thanks again!

Yeah if you don't already have the tank just get a pre drilled Sea Star through your fav LFS.
That way it you dont have to worry about it breaking when it gets drilled. |
