 clown tang

Anybody had much luck with these guys in an aquarium? My tank is a 90 gallon aquarium with plenty of rock work for it to hide in. I have one other tang in there, and that is a sailfin tang. The clown tang is just over 2 inches long right now.
My question is this, is this a wise investment for me to put him in my aquarium. I realize they need lots of room to swim, but with the tank size and his size would this be enough. I also have plenty of current in my tank as well |

One of the more aggressive tangs from what I've heard. I've never had one but it may not like being in a four foot tank with another tang.

that is what I thought as well. After doing some more research I did realize that they have a tendency to be rather aggresive when they get older.
I was just thinking that just maybe somebody could chime in and say that thay are not that way at all. |

From what I've read, clown tangs (and sohals) will get very aggressive when they feel cramped. You should be fine with this fish and the other tang for maybe 2 years.. then they will be too big for a 90. You'll realize this when you see how big these fish get. Your tank will look small.
	.. my 2 cents. |

they are huge swimmers, they really should have a 6+ foot tank.

I have made my mind up...it would be cruel to buy this fish...even though I would be saving it from a smaller tank in the store.

I think that is a wise decision. Wow someone who does research and contemplates before purchase. I'm impressed.
I used to have a clown tang in a 150 gallon tank and he was okay. He definitely was the boss but generally did get along with the other fish. But anytime I stuck my hand in the tank to do something. He would come and just hammer on me and try to bite me. I thought he was a good looking fish and in spite of the fact I think my tank size was okay, he ticked me one too many times with his attacks and so I caught him and sold him to a local pet store (for next to nothing, good old Animal House in Chilliwack) Boy has that place got downhill since Mike and Dale left. . . But that's another story. Quote:

always like to ask questions before I add something to my aquarium...i hate when things are unhappy in my aquarium...I figured that this should be common practice for every experienced reefer
