Using tap water to rinse my sand?

In the past Ive always used RO/DI for rinsing. Will I be asking for more aglae?

I have washed with tap and didn't have any algae problems.

BUT, with a 230, just do a 15% water change, and use that 30g of water.

np. Happy rinsing! :) Wear gloves or its pretty hard on the hands.

Depends on the parameters of your tap water. If they're not good then rinse or wash your sand with tap water. Drain it and and then short rinse with ro/di I think would work.
