Travelling with corals/fish/inverts from US to Canada

Hi all,

Has anyone ever visited the US and brought back corals, fish or inverts? I was reading the www.cites.org page, however I'm looking for a more practical experience with how this works for an individual buying these "pets" in the US and bringing them back to Canada.

I'd greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide.

Thanks,

J

From my own knowlage and from what I have heard.

Fish- you should be able to just bring them across as long as it is for you hobby and not for resale.
corals- nope you need a cites permit
live rock - nope you need a cites permit
inverts - not sure

But I also heard that you can bring zoas across as longs as it is on a plug.

I plan to drive down to Tacoma in a week or 2 to pick up some fw fish.
good luck let us know what happens.
