Show me your DIY hoods
Well I'm starting to work on my hood and today my reflectors had shown up well when I set them on the tank they take up the whole top. There is no way to get your hand in to even feed them. I wanna see some design plans and how yours open to access what I had in mind is not going to work.
sooooo lets see um |
Made the frame up using 2x2" and panels of maple plywood. Attached the ends and top with glues and brad nails. First had the front and rear panels secured with rare earth magnets. Though the magnets held okay it wasn't very convenient. Ended up placing two hinges on each panel. With the simple hinges on the outside, panel swing 180° plus and stay open. Tank's 24" deep can can easily reach into the bottom.
