Help with new nano.
New to nanos, I was wondering if anyone can help me with my green star polyp not extending fully  . Other "animals" include 1 blue leg hermit, 1 candy cane coral, mushrooms and a torch coral.
3.5 gal nano. 5 lb LR for fitration and 18 W CF light. Water conditions are good. Water changes weekly. About a 5-month old setup with animals in the last 2 months. Animals are fed about weekly with ComboVital (with shrimp pellets every so often for the hermit crab). I was just wondering if the unextended green star is a sign of something bad to come. Thanks for the input. This is my 1st post on CanReef. |
what kind of lighting? and do you have any other filter beside the rock? what do you use for flow?check sg,alk, calcium

18 W Compact florescent light.
No filter besides LR. ZooMed for flow (smallest version). SG 1.025 Alk 10 Ca at ~430 ppm Thanks for the reply |
More water movement could help... I had this problem in my nano... my GSP just won't come out and be as green as possible, so i just moved them to my 90gallon instead.

is it possible to move them to a area with more flow?
i run a aquaclear 50 filter on both my 7g tanks and the flow is good but you cant control where it goes at all |
I had 2 powerheads and an AC mini on my 8gallon nano. I used one of the powerheads and pointed it where the AC mini flow came down, and found that together they were quite effective at controlling the flow off the mini
I don't use those powerheads anymore, so yeah, if anyone wants em, make me an offer. |
More flow then. Thanks
