Chevron tang in trouble
My fish have been fighting what i think is ich, the chevron was literally dying so I decided to do a hyposalinity treatment. Is it safe to just acclimate him to 1.009 and put him in? or does it have to be gradual...
i acclimated him for 3-4 hours and put him in NSW at 1.009 seeing is I have nothing to lose, he is clinging to life. |
Gradual...
If he looks like he's a goner right now... be very gentle and do the drop slowly,(days...) otherwise.. he's for sure a goner. It will severly add to the stress IMHO. If you just did a drop from anywhere from 1.023-1.026, and put him in 1.009 after only acclimating for 3-4 hours, I doubt he'll make it. That's my opinion. Good luck |
ah, ya I decided to just treat iit as a freshwater dip, and he's back in the tank. I'm pretty sure he is beyond the point of no return anyways. :(
At least my Yellow tang is A OK. |
crappy deal, its hard when you cant do a damb thing about it.
|
yup it sucks, he was a nice fish.
tang is hiding, all i can do is wait and see. I'm expecting to find his body tomorrow morning. |
well hopefully you dont,..i hope to hear he makes it,
|
as much as people hate to admit it, when the fish looks like hes a goner its usually to late, very rarly, i find, when you notice somewhat bad ick its to late. SW fish are just very finicky and need to be healthy from the very bigining, but there are some fish that a very hard, clown fish for example.
