Euro Bracing

Okay I have a question for all you DIY'ers out their....What size should I make my EuroBrace on my new 230 Gal Tank???

Psyire 03-20-2006 10:40 PM

What are the tank dimensions?

On a six foot tank I would thing 2.5 to 3 inches of 3/8 or 1/2 inch glass would be enough. Now don't forget I base that on no real knowledge just my own experience in building the tanks I have.

I have a 230g and mine is 1/2" glass and about 3in wide.

i'm looking at making a 230 too are you puting the sides on the bottom or the bottom inside the sides?

1/2 inch and 3inch wide. with 1/2 inch you can run the water level inbetween the thickness of the glass and never worry about etching a water line, and if the contact side against the front side isn't polished the glass will be slightly of perpendicular. do your arms a favor get the glass polished or at least well sanded.
