Substrate for attatching zoas and mushrooms

What is the best substrate for letting mushrooms attatch to. Aragonite seems too fine, is crushed coral the only thing out there??, other then breaking live rock into tiny bits.
Thanks.

You could make some frag plugs. I've also used ceramic tubes in the past for zoos.

Rubble looks the best for frags IMO.

Go to your LFS & see if you can buy their rubble from past LR shipments. Here, rubble at King Ed's is pretty cheap, especially since a lb of it is a lot of rubble.
