Halide bulbs with a little more blue?

Howdy folks,

Looking for a little advice in the way of Halide bulbs. I am presently running a 13K Geisemann Megachrome SE 250W bulb. I am finding it to be a little yellow white, I was hoping for something a little more blue. (even with my actinics -2x28W- the light just isn't where I would like it.)

I really don't want to go to a 20k and lose the growth power of a lower k rating.. but I just want something that looks a little bit nicer.

Any suggestions on what you guys are running?

Thanks!

blue

I am on my second ARC 14K bulb ($50 @ aquaria.ca). I love this bulb. Very blue and great results for a great price.
Rich.

I'm using the 14K pheonix and I really have liked it. I find it a really good balance of blue and white. I have never thried the Arc's but for the price I would be tempted to.

There is also no way that your 2 28W actinics would ever make a difference with a 250W halide blasting down.

Hi,

You may also want to try the Hamilton 14K bulbs. Giesemann also makes a 14K bulb IIRC which may be worth looking into.

Awesome! Thanks for the advice so far guys!

Unfortunatley the 14,5K geiseman only comes in a DE bulb :(

I am running 1 10K (400W)Reeflux bulb and 2 13K Geisemann (400W) bulbs in my fixture and the Reeflux bulb is way bluer than the Geisemann.
