Mangrove
 

Has anybody try using mangrove in their sump?So how is it? would you recommend it?

Would I recommend it? Depends..Want a cool plant (hey it's mangrove, how cool is that?) .. then yes. :) Want it for nutrient export? Then .. not really.

At least in my experience they grow far too slowly to be a viable nutrient export.

But they can make for a very interesting display. Supposedly you can train them to grow those aerial roots although I've never tried it.

I have read that if you suspend them in the air, the roots will grow downwards, and you just keep hicking it up to grow bigger roots.
