Tourch Coral, Limp

I have a tourch coral i have recently bought, It is in a good flow area med to bright light the all the chemical levels in the water are good. Its seem that the coral somtimes goes "limp" is this normal or should i be worried?

Thank you

heh, define what you mean by "limp" like, just kind of sitting there (coral being motionless) ? If so, it needs more flow. It needs moderate flow so the tentacles are gently waving back and forth.

So if that's the problem just adjust some powerheads to correct the flow !

HTH,

actually they do go limp from time to time. well they have in my tank, it seems normal for them to do it for short periods of time regardless of flow.

What constitutes medium to bright light?

Are you using NO, VHO, PC, MH, what watts, etc.

A coral can go "limp" if it is disturbed by a fish or invert as well, but it should bounce back shortly afterwards.

Lighting is...

MH 150 watt 10,000 k double ended pendant. the coral is about half way down in the tank.

Plenty of light then. That could be part of it, it might be acclimating to stronger light. Try putting it down a bit further with a little more flow of possible. Or just leave it a couple days and watch it closely.
