household wiring - 2 switches?
 
Hey folks,

Figure there are some electricians here - trust you guys more than the idiots at Home despots...

Have an exisiting light circuit that i'd like to add a second switch to, so either switch can turn on/off the lights. How the heck do you wire that? wiring the switches in series would result in both switches needing to be turned on for it to light... Parallel means neither would override the other...

So how do you do it?

You need to use three way switches and 3 wire cable. Its a bit tricky to wire correctly.

Here is one web site witch shows few variations of wiring depending on how you need to run the cable.
