Sweet... that YWG is pretty cute. Mine looks old and grumpy all the time. That anemone is pretty sweet too, but I have never heard of this species.. what are the care requirements , etc? Nice zoos too. I have a small colony of the bullseye's as well, very neat coloured zoo IMO!

scott: I talked to danny wai a long tome last night, I had many many ?
This is not dyed, and he said it stays small4-6 inches likes a sand bed. I have him in pc lighting and i will watch him. If he starts to bleach he will go into the new 120g with halide soon!!! I fed him mysid shrimp this afternoon.... |

That "carnation anemone" looks a lot like a bleached and dyed BTA to me. I don't know any others that have that 'bubble tip' that it's displaying subtly. On the other hand, I can't imagine Wai's selling it on those terms. It appears "clear" yellow, which means no (or little) zooxanthellae; either bleached or non-photosynthetic. Feed it well.
Please keep posting as to success and any further info. It is beautiful. I hope it isn't doomed. |
I know it's not dyed . I have seen this type of anemone in green colour at ocean aquarium. Plus, given your tank paramaters are good, and you have some good lighting over it. I bet you any money it would bounce back anyhow.. it's a neat little anemone. Definately not a BTA either. They do not have those short and stubby like tentacles. IME they are either long and strandy, or plump and short (bubbles) But hey.. you never know, I could be out to lunch
Snappy: That's a great idea, and I think I will have to look into that very soon. I just lost my starcki damsel to reasons unknown a couple days ago so I need another fish to (sadly) replace him. Anyone know if there is any female YWG's around town? Aren't the females brown in colour or a tan colour? I would like to get him a partner, it would be neat to see him interact with another fish (he's the loner of the group...) [sorry for the hijack] |

As far as the watchman goby's, my male is yellow and the female is grey & white with blue bottom fins. They are a cute pair. I got them at Wai's about 10 months ago. |
Awesome.. I plan on getting one. That will make 2 pairs in my tank, the clowns and the gobies. I think it would be pretty cool that way. I want to see my YWG interact some more.. think I may go grab one today (again sorry for the hijack  )
