Hi I'm new here, and have found a "brotherhood" sort of sorts in the Lower Mainland which I knew none of. But a brief introduction is necessary...

I have an 80 gallon reef (soft/LPS), 8 months of age. My regular abodes on the internet is at www.candybass.com, and sometimes at the about site. here.

Since I am fairly new to owning a tank (but not to studying it LOL) i have exclusively relied on J&L. Which are some other good places in the lower mainland?

I'm also looking for a product by Ruby Reef, called Kick-Ich? Has anyone seen it in stores?

I also have dual 55w pcs to sell, new 4 months, anyone interested LOL...
I'd love to see anyone else's pics of their tanks (unfort. I don't have a site yet. holding off till I get a digi cam)

Nice to get to know ya.

Welcome
I would not recommend you use Kick Ich in your main tank only in a QT.
If you can't find the stuff try Greenx (not in your main tank) or DipX (dip very quickly)
Good Luck with the ich.

Hi,

I'm actually looking for a product by Ruby Reef called HydroPlex, which is a more safer use.

Do you know where I can find greenx and dipx though?

Thanks

They are people that I trust,
as simple as that.

My 80 gallon tank which I have is my first stab at saltwater aquaria, after much research, but hell, I wish I could start over again. there are so many things I should and want to change with design.
Oh well it'll have to do. At least the critters are happy LOL. I'm always looking out for a cheap used 100 gallon to work on though.

Nice to get to know ya
FlameAngel

p/s do you know of any stores which sell ruby reef products?

Hi Flameangel, welcome aboard. Did you have a look at the reef club thread? If not have a look and feel free to comment with your input

There are a few other places in the lower mainland to check out for livestock. Animal House in Chilliwack is a nice store with a knowledgeable staff. Perky's Pets in New Westminster has a really beautiful display and can have some interesting livestock. Big Al's seems to be hit and miss with an emphasis on the miss . I think you are very lucky to have found J&L's right off the bat. They are setting the standard for pricing and quality of livestock and drygoods.

There are some other great sources of information out there on the WWW . www.thereeftank.com www.reefs.org and www.reefcentral.com are among the best. Just wade through the bs and there are many experienced reefers ready to help out.
