New tank
I know I know this one is going to be a FW wife picked the tank and spot where it goes and she wanted it for FW (cause I will be buying a new SW soon) So I got to pick the fish, african cichlids. I don't have any cichlid experience unless rams and angels count. So any cichlid pro can jump right in. I know it not a ideal cichlid tank 47G cube but its what I have to work with. I know I want electric yellow labs and I also want something blue and red.
Please jump in with sugestions:mrgreen: The tank has been cycling for almost a month levels are ok going to add some danios this weekend to help it along for about another month http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ator/cube2.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...nator/cube.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...nator/rock.jpg |
Where's the halide/skimmer/corals?
Looks good Murray! Have fun with this one! Sorry, I cant offer any help on this though, although im not sure how yellow labs will do in something that shape? Chris |
IMO Murray..
The african cichlids will do ok while they are small but will quickly outgrow that tank. You might want to try some small shellies instead.. |
new tank
tanganyika,s are awesome fish to get into.
malawi are the agressive ones (well not all).victoria are mean. when i had my stuff runnig i had 17 tanks had little fry everywhere. if you want a nice looking fish go with the peacock very nice looking fish. if you are going to the meet ill bring a book for you.this link is where i got all my fish from.shipping was not bad.and it was stuff you could not find here. if you are looking for elec. yellows or elec. blues my old stock is in leduc. i am sure i could get you some. http://www.ohiexchange.com/armke/list.htm |
Murry,
If cichlids are your game, you have to come to Calgary. Gold's probably has one of the largest selections of cichlids I have ever seen. |

I'd put a couple small blood parrots in there, those fish are too cool. I used to have some of those, funny fish.... they look like they have a huge smile on their face, all the time. Nice looking setup BTW.
