water question

what is better ro water or steam distilled

mr_alberta 01-18-2006 08:03 PM

I believe that steam distilled yields water that is more pure than R.O. IIRC.

true, but and a big but... water this pure is a huge solvent and will start to adsorbe minerals from what ever piping is used in the distellery, so if you are using a home made copper one or a store bought one that uses copper cooling tubes I would be leary... is it enuf to introduce copper poisoning to your tank, probably not but what about over time. maybe, but is it worth the risk?

there is a store that has it in hinton you think i should try it?

I'm interested in this as well, you could always use a TDS meter to see whether your makeup water contains any metals such as copper as Steve mentioned.
