Why Live Rock?
 

What is the difference between cured live rock and 'dead' rock that has all the appropriate denitrifying bacteria etc....? I mean why do we spend so much money for live rock when we are able to 'nitrify' any porous rock? Could be a stupid question requiring a hit from the bong or semi smart - you tell me
