GE Silicone I Windows and Doors works. Never use Kitchen and Bathroom silicone as they contain anti-mildew agents which is very bad...

Ditto - Canadian Tire and Home Hardware sell silicone that specifically states "IDEAL FOR AQUARIUMS"... get that stuff.

I have a case of pure silicone that I've used for several aquariums. I get em for work. If you want, I can sell a tube to you for $6. It's the large tubes that fit in the caulking guns.
