Need a hotel or motel name

I am looking to try and reserve a room from Dec. 26th to Jan. 4th as I am going to be down in Vancouver for the World Junior Hockey tournament. Can anyone recommend someplace that is not too expensive and close to the Pacific Colossium (sp) or at least on a direct public transit route that doesn't require me to change buses multiple times? It doesn't need to be fancy but don't want to have to sleep with my clothes on either. Thanks much.

There's a Holiday Inn in North Van that is about 1/2 mile north of the Second Narrows Bridge, (aka Ironworkers Memorial Bridge). It's were the old Coach House used to be.

There's a bus stop right out front.
You could take that bus, the 239 Park Royal, to Phibbs Exchange.
Phibbs Exchange is basically right at the north end of the bridge.
Get off at Phibbs and transfer to either the 4, 210, 211, or 214 Vancouver bus. (Which ever one is there at the time).
Take the second bus across the bridge and get off at McGill and Renfrew.
The Coliseum is a short walk from there along Renfrew.

HTH.

Do you know where the Pacific Coliseum is?
Skytrain doesn't go anywhere near it.
I think you're thinkin' GM Place.
The question is for accomodations near Pacific Coliseum.

Cheers,

Ruth,

You can stay at any hotel on Hastings and can catch a hastings bus to the PNE/Pacific Col. I recommend either staying downtown (pricey) or in Burnaby. Don't stay in East Van. You'll need to check the beds for syringes. :P

Here are two hotels RIGHT AT the PNE that are decent.. and shouldn't be too pricey.

Best Western Exhibition Park
3475 Hastings Street East, Vancouver, BC V5K 2A5, Canada
(604) 294-4751

Holiday Inn Express Vancouver
2889 Hastings Street East, Vancouver, BC V5K 2A1, Canada
(604) 254-1000

Here is a link to see their locations. Hastings Park Raceway is at the PNE.
