ReefGeek

I was thinking about ordering a T5 light fixture from reefgeek. I was just wondering who else on the forums has ordered from them, what you ordered, what shipping method you chose and how much you paid in duties/brokerage fees. I am worried that I am going to get stuck with a huge brokerage fee if I chose UPS, and am worried that I might receive broken bulbs if I chose USPS Airmail. Please let me know! Thanks

I would be more worried about broken bulbs with UPS from my experiences..

From my experience it is best to have them send it by the US Postal Service. You never have to pay brokerage. All you pay is GST, and the $5.00 handling charge. There is never any duty because of the Free Trade Agreement. Before anybody argues about the duty, that has been my experience with quite a few US orders.

Quite often they wont even charge you GST or the $5 handling charge.
(At least from my experiences.)

Yes that is true. Some days when they don't feel like working they will forget it.

I of course would not think of that because I live in Alberta.
