Clam Refugium

I've been thinking of putting togeather a shallow clam refugium. Has any one here tried this before? I was thinking maybe a 20g Long n' Shallow would work nice w/ a 400w MH. I figure a Mag7 for the flow from the current sump clean side. Suggestions appreciated

How many clams are you planing?

In a 20 Long, Probably 6 maybe 7 T.Crocea.

Just make sure the current isn't too strong because clams don't like their lips (mantles) flapping.

I have a 400MH on a 29 gal.....ohohoh !!!!

Lol I used to have my 400 on my 33.

I think it would be plausible, but I think you would need more clams.

Im sure low-light clams would work just as well?

Chris

haha that would be a pretty colorful setup.

I think your main goal (especially for the corcea) is : tons of light, minimal (but not too minimal) flow. Blast them with lots of light and like mentioned not too much flow so their mantles are flapping.

You'll also have to keep up with the calcium demand as well.. but that shouldn't be too difficult.

I think it would be a pretty colourful setup indeed
