i got in a few more test kits and here are the results:
mag 1170
calcuim 370
kh 8.0
alk 2.86
the mag and calcuim are a bit low.
ive done some reading on bev's links but it's still greek to me.
what suggestions to raise the mag and calcuim.

Hah! It's mostly Greek to me too  That's why I read and reread those suckers

I use Kent's liquid calcium and Kent's Tech-M for Mg.

I use a calcium reactor so it keeps the calcium and alk pretty much balanced. For magnesium I use the Seachem reef advantage and it seems to work just fine.
I wasn't sure from your post if you meant what products people use or what levels we keep those at. FWIW I keep my ca at 460, my alk. at 3.2 and my mg. at around 1400.

thanks ruth, i'm looking for info on both, what products and what levels people maintain their tanks.

I keep Mg at about 1300-1325 ppm, Ca at 400-425 ppm, alk at 9-11 dKH.

 it helps when you look at all the topics on the sticky page, not just scrolling down to the chemistry topics your interested in

No worries  Glad you're doing other research on your own
