live sand
 

I have a about a 1/2 pail of Ls and the water from an old tank, but when you mix it a bit it really has a smell to it (rotten) :eek: Is this sand still ok or (how do I tell) or if I was to change the water/rinse all the sand would it be ok to use or should i toss it all ?

toss it in and watch for an ammonia bloom..should be okay after it cycles

I can't I have corals and fish in the tank guess I did not say that before

You cant really move it from one tank to another with out getting crazy bad nitrate and ammonia i would just clean the sand and let it become alive again in its own time
