My PVC Diy skimmer
 
just thought i would post a link to my pics of my diy skimmer. just plugged in this morning and skimming wonderfully all ready.It is using a rio 2100 pump with a modified venturi intake. the skimmer is 6 feet tall and is made out ot 4" and 2" pvc. Any comments appreciated!

Cool, Duct tape the universal building material :D , looks like it is working good, how much did you spend al togeather? (Oh I know a rool of duct tape is big bucks so don't worry about that [img]smile.gif[/img]

Well, all the pvc parts and tubing cost me 50 to 60 dollars. That price was for the total length of pipes and such, so I still have 1/3 of the pipes left over. The actual cost of the skimmer I would say is 45 dollars. This price does not include the pump. Total price with the rio pump I am using (had it in my fish bin) would be $110.00. Prior to this, I had a seaclone which worked well for what it was, but this one skimms better/more in 1 day than the seaclone did in a week. [img]smile.gif[/img]
